HUDSON — Chief Richard DiPersio and Chief Jamie Desautels report that the Hudson Police and Fire Departments responded Monday when a vehicle was struck by a falling tree, with one of the vehicle’s passengers suffering an injury.

On Monday, Jan. 8, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Hudson Police and Fire Departments responded to Falls Brook Road at Laurel Drive for a report of a vehicle struck by a tree.

Companies arrived to find that an approximately 8-inch tree fell onto a vehicle in the road, with a branch from that tree striking a 10-year-old passenger in the head.

The 10-year-old did not appear to have suffered a serious injury but was taken to Marlborough Hospital for further evaluation. There were no other injuries.
