- Burning permits can be obtained online at HudsonFire.BurnPermits.com. Permits must be activated daily by calling (888) 997-4458.
- For 2023, Burning permits are free.
- Permit is valid for the burning season of the year they are issued.
- The permit must be activated on a daily basis by calling the Fire on each and every day you wish to burn at (888) 997-4458.
- In order to re-activate your permit within the burning season, you must know your permit number.
- Depending upon weather conditions the Department may choose to revoke all permits for any specific day.
- Violators of Massachusetts Regulation (310 CMR 7.07) may have their permit permanently revoked.
Per Massachusetts Regulation (310 CMR 7.07): Open burning is permitted from January 15 to May 1 of each year ONLY for the disposal of brush, cane, driftwood, and forestry debris.
*Grass, hay, leaves, and stumps are EXCLUDED.*
All such open burning shall be conducted: on land proximate to the place of generation at a location greater than 75 feet from any dwelling, and between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
No such open burning shall apply to commercial or institutional land clearing for non-agricultural purposes.
