HUDSON — Chief Bryan Johannes reports that the Hudson Fire Department’s Station 1 sustained significant damage after being struck by lightning during a thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon. 

On Saturday, June 17, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Hudson Fire Station 1, located at 1 Washington St. was struck by lightning during a thunderstorm. 

The building sustained significant electrical damage, including damage to the fire alarm system, rendering the building uninhabitable. No injuries were reported. 

All crews will be responding out of Hudson Fire Department Headquarters, located at 296 Cox St until further notice. 

The Hudson Fire Department is currently working with the town’s insurance provider to receive a full damage assessment.

There is no estimated date for operations to return to Hudson Fire Station 1 at this time.
